In addition to the maker booths on and around the UNC Asheville quad, some Maker Faire activities will be happening at specific times. There will be a shuttle running between the UNC Asheville campus and the R.A.M.P studios. The shuttle will be available near P25 at UNC Asheville.
Maker Faire Booths (1:00-5:00)
Makers will be exhibiting from 1:00-5:00 on the UNC Asheville quad, as well as P25, Karpen Hall, and Lipinsky Hall. A map of the maker locations can be found here.
STEAM Studio Tours (4:00, 4:30, 5:00, 5:30)
The UNC Asheville Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) Studio is a multi-disciplinary space, engaging the next generation of makers, engineers, artists and entrepreneurs, who work side-by-side with faculty and staff experts experienced in all facets of the creative process. There will be tours of the STEAM Studio every 30 minutes from 4:00-6:00. The STEAM Studio can be reached via the shuttle.
Visual Sound Table (4:00-6:00)
This project, created by the Senior Design team from UNCA Mechatronics Engineering department, provides a visual representation of sound waves using sand and a vibrating metal plate. It will be on display at the STEAM studio from 4:00-6:00 and can be reached via the shuttle.
French Broad Chocolates (8:00-5:30, 6:00-8:00)
French Broad Chocolates is an iconic Asheville establishment that makes fantastic chocolates and confections. They are open for normal business from 8-5:30. At 6:00 they will reopen with an “After the Faire” event, which will include various chocolate and confection tastings, a wine and cheese pairing, and a tour by one of their chocolatiers.
